I'm sure there are loads of threads on this but what are the best tyres for long haul commuting (100 miles a day) Currently have the standard Michelin but needing a new set as they are worn and discovered an egg on the front yesterday (yikes!)

I've just put a set of Michelin Pilot Rods on mine to replace the OEM Trailwings. Only done a few miles on them so far but really pleased with them at present. I never off-road the Vara so full-on road tyres are fine for me.
Avon Distanzias were good for up to 10k miles. Having said that I'm now on Tourances. Both good for all road conditions.

Anakee 2's for me at the moment, very pleased with them so far. They tick all of the boxes for me forwear rate, dry grip, wet grip and looks.
currently on conti trail attacks, loads of life in them still after 5k mi. they have really deep tread. grip good too, profile seems to suit the vara's 'kamikaze dive' going into corners
